The missing M and N
I got a text message and a call from the Mom of my autistic student. She’s panicking because her daughter is not pronouncing the letters M and N anymore! It’s missing! I thought great-what a way to start my vacation! Missing letters-interesting!
I told her all the possibilities why her daughter is not pronouncing the letters properly:maybe she heard it on TV, she’s playing with them, she’s imitating somebody, she wants attention, etc. etc.
Mom’s not convinced with the different possibilities, she kept on telling me that her daughter is calling her “Baba” instead of Mama and “Ate Dova” (Ate Nova-one of her nanny). So the letter M becomes B and the letter N becomes D, hmmm cute! Kidding! I really don’t know what happened to her, it’s impossible that she regress because the school has just ended. When I asked the Mom what does her daughter do at home, she told me that she’s just lying around the whole day! Oh no! No, no, no, no, nooo! What were they thinking, she’s autistic not catatonic!
Sometimes parents doesn’t have patience to deal with their kids-special or not. As long as the child is quiet and not doing anything harmful okey lang, they don’t even talk to the child and now they’re panicking because some letters are missing-c’mon! I hate it when parents are like that! Tsk tsk. I told her that her daughter needs ACTIVITIES and SOMEONE who will talk to her or will practice her to answer back (mostly, autistic doesn’t talk that much).
Now, I have to go to their house to check what’s going on with her daughter and find out why the letters M and N are missing. (to be continued…)

Daddy
If you could choose your father, will you still choose your Dad? Me, definitely!
I love my Dad! He’s truly the best Dad in the world! Cheesy? I know, but it’s true he’s really the best father! My Dad is very responsible and loving. He makes sure that he provides for everything that we need. Mom’s not here anymore (she’s already in heaven) so, Dad is the one who goes to the market to buy food for the whole week. He sometimes cooks for us and even wash dishes when we are too lazy/tired to do it (he makes pagalit after washing the dishes!). hehehe
It’s not always perfect though because Daddy is also strict, when we were teenagers even in College years, no boyfriends allowed! There was a time that I questioned their (Mom & Dad) strictness and I was mad about it. You know when you’re young it feels like they’re choking you and all those drama
Well if it’s not for their strictness, I’m probably married now and miserable! So, their strictness is a good thing for me and my siblings. He is still a little bit strict to us but more on curfews na lang. Boyfriend/girlfriend even marriage oks na sa kanya ![]()
Another reason why I love him is because he’s the type of father that you could talk to or joke with. When we have problems, we can run into him and he will do the best that he can to solve it. He is our hero!
On April 2, he’ll be celebrating his 50th birthday! I can’t believe Daddy’s getting old! I wish and pray to the Lord that Daddy will live longer and always in good good good health.
Love you so much Daddy!

Vacation time!
Yahooo! School is over bakasyon na! Vacation vacation vacation!!!!
Vacation means I could get up as late as 10a.m. or 11a.m -wow! No more lessons and behavior modifications, no more makukulit na kids, no more IEP’s and Progress Reports haaay ang saya ng buhay
Makakapagpuyat na din ako kahit everyday. Watch TV until my eyes hurt. Read all the books that I’m dying to read without interruptions. Go to the mall anytime that I want. Travel to different places. No more worries, no more stressful school days- I am so haaaapppyyy!
This is one of the perks of being a teacher if it’s vacation time, it’s vacation time! Sometimes nga lang bakasyon din ang bulsa (for those who are not yet regular teachers) but that’s only for two months. At least for two months you can do anything that you want and that’s pure joy!
Inggit ba kayo? joke
HAPPY VACATION!
